(English below) Hırvatistan’ın başkenti Zagreb, ülkenin Split ve Dubrovnik gibi kıyı kasabaları dururken pek gidilmek istenen bir rota değil aslında. Nereye ucuza uçak biletleri var diye bakarken 280 TL gidiş dönüş uçak bileti bulunca  gitmeye karar vermiştim. İyi ki gitmişim. 3-4 gün için 1000 TL altı bir bütçe ile rahat rahat seyahat edilebilecek dolu bir kent Zagreb.

Bir yandan eski Sovyet stili ihtişamlı binalar, diğer yandan modern kent merkezi, süslü çatılı kiliseler, kırık kalpler müzesi gibi ilginç konulu müzeler, lezzetli kahveler ve ucuz biralar bulunca daha da sevindim doğrusu. Gezilecek görülecek yerlerin çoğu Eski Şehir civarında iken sevilen kahvecileri de şehrin yeni kısmında yoğunlaşmış durumda.

GEZİLECEK YERLER

Finiküler : 1888 yılında inşaa edilen Doğu Avrupa’nın en kısa finiküleri , Zagreb Finiküleri sadece 800 metre uzunluğunda. Eğer 4 kuna olan ücretini ödemek istemezseniz hemen yanında bulunan merdivenleri kullanarak şehrin Yukarı Kısmına, Eski Şehire ulaşmak mümkün.

Lotrscak Kulesi: Eski Şehirde bulunan bu kuleye tırmanarak  güzel Zagreb manzarasına ulaşmanız mümkün oluyor.  Her gün öğle saatlerinde gerçekleştirilen top atışı ödünüzü kopartabilir! Kuleye tırmanma girişi bedeli 20 kuna.

Kırık Kalpler Müzesi – Museum of Broken Relationships: Kırık Kalpler Müzesi Zagrep’in enlerinden biri olmaya aday inovasyon ödüllü bir müze. Gerçek yaşamdan tüm kırık kalpleri konu alan hikayeler sizi melankoliden melankoliye sürükleyebilir. Bu kırık kalp ilişkileri sadece romantik ilişkilerle sınırlı değil üstelik. Annelerin, babaların, arkadaşların ayrılıkları, ölümleri de konu olabiliyor. Giriş ücreti 30 kuna.

Aziz Mark Kilisesi: Zagreb’in o yuvarlak kiremitlerinden oluşan en güzel çatı desenli kilisesi Aziz Mark Kilisesi görülmeye değer güzelliklerinden.  Kilisenin çatısına Hırvatistan ve Slovenya armaları parlak renklerle işlenmiş.

Taş Kapı: Bu kapı Aşağı Şehir ve Yukarı Şehri birbirine bağlayan içinde de Hristiyan mabedi bulunduran tarihi bir geçit.  Efsaneye göre orta çağ dönemlerinde çıkan bir yangında Meryem buraya sığınmış ve bu kapı  en ufak bir zarar görmeden kurtulmuş. Kapının içinde dua eden, mum yakan insanları görmeniz yüksek ihtimal.

Josipa Jelacica Meydanı: Zagreb’in en büyük meydanı  sayılabilecek bu meydan bir çok etkinliğe ev sahipliği yapıyor. Ben oradayken kurulan dev sahnede çeşitli ülkelerin folklore ekiplerinin sahne aldığı Folklor Festivaline ev sahipliği yapmaktaydı.  Burada bir yandan akan yaşamı, mavi tramvayları gözlemleyebilirsiniz.

Dolac Pazarı: Pazar Ziyaretlerinden hoşlananlardan iseniz  Dolac Pazarı mutlaka görmeniz gereken yerlerden. Pazarla rengarenk hale gelen meydanda kırmızı şemsiyeler göze çarpıyor. Meyve, sebze, deniz ürünü, et, peynir stantlarının yanı sıra hediyelik eşya stantları da bulunmakta.

Kutsal Meryem Katedrali: Zagreb’in hemen hemen her köşesinden kulelerini görebileceğiniz Kutsal Meryem Katedrali buranın bedavaya görülecek yerlerinden en güzel yerlerinden biri olabilir. 1899 yılında inşa edilen katedrali ziyaret etmek ücretsiz ancak giyim kuralları bulunmakta. Kısa şort ve askılı tişörtlerle giremiyorsunuz.

KAHVECİLER

İstiklal caddesinin eski haline benzeyen ve hayatın aktığı iki ana cadde var: biri Tkalciceva Caddesi diğeri Ilıca Caddesi. Publar, et restoranları, fast food restoranları  sıra sıra dizilmiş durumda.  Sağlı sollu alışveriş  yapabileceğiniz dükkanlar, kahvaltı edebileceğiniz pastaneler de bulunmakta. Ayrıca yan taraflarda güzel , sürpriz meydanların bulunması da ayrı bir cazibe…

Eğer meydanda oturup gelen geçeni seyrederek kahve içmek isterseniz onun için adres Josepa Jelacica Meydanı. Burada Zagrepçka Kava denilen armut likörü, espresso ve çırpılmış kremadan oluşan kahveyi tatma şansına erişmiştim. Oldukça leziz denemeye değer bir lezzet olduğunu belirtmekte fayda var. Eğer iyi kahve içme peşindeyseniz Zagrep bu konuda da cömert.

Cogito Coffee: Gözü yormayan renklerle dekore edilmiş şirin bir ortamda kahve içme imkanı sunuyor Cogito Coffee.. Espressonun yanı sıra V60, Chemex vb.  yöntemler ile hazırlanan kahve de içmeniz mümkün..

Eliscaffe: Ödüllü bir baristanın açtığı küçücük loş ortamda bir kahveci burası. Espressosundan daha çok kahve bardaklarını sevdim doğrusu 🙂

42 Coffee Co.: Burası da kahve bardakları ile gönlümü çalan yerlerden. Üstelik iki farklı çekirdek karışımı sunarak espressonuzu hangisinden alırdınız diye de soruyorlar..Bence Zagrep’te mola verilmesi gereken en güzel kahvecilerden biri..

Tolkien’s House: Kahve içmeyi tercih eder misiniz bilmem ama Tolkien hayranlarına hitap eden bu pub Hırvatça, İngilizce ve Elfçe menüye sahip.. En çok kokteylleriyle övünüyorlar..Ben nispeten sıradan bir pub gibi buldum burayı.

Kırık Kalpler Müzesi Kafesi: Bu müzeyi çok sevdiğimden içinde yine müzeden elementler içeren kafesinin dekorunu da çok sevdim. Müzeyi gezdikten sonra burda kahve içmek ve internette takılmak isteyebilirsiniz.

Capital city of Croatia Zagrep is not that a preferred touristic destination taking into consideration of Dalmatian coast centers like Dubrovnik or Split. But it surprised me a lot.. I managed to travel around the city for a very low budget (under 300€ including the flight). So for low budget travellers the city might be a very good choice.

Beautiful Soviet buildings, modern squares and a continious buzz… These words might describe Zagrep. It felt like I was an explorer, kept discovering new pockets, each nicer than the last. There were far too many squares, spots that I wanted to sit, have a coffee or beer and watch people pass by or get to the blue tramway!

PLACES TO SEE

Funicular: The shortest funicular in eastern Europe, just 800 metres is this funicular that takes you to the Upper Town which was constructed in 1888. If you don’t want to spend 4 Kunas you may use the stair way just on the right hand side of the funicular.

Lotrscak Tower: This is a medieval tower at the top of the funicular that you can climb for some good views over Zagreb. There is a cannon that is let off every day at noon – so you may not want to be around here at this time as it is very loud! I thoguth it to be a bomb exploding but after I saw everybody continuing their chill I understood that it is this medieval tower cannon. If you want to climb the tower it costs 20 kunas.

Museum of Broken Relationships: Museum of Broken Relationships is a unique and innovation awarded museum founded by donated items from real people with broken relationships.  It is not just romantic relationships either. It is also about other broken relationships too. For instance there are stories about a mum’s suicide note to her kids, another mums childhood dream car come true for her child, a positive heroine test that resulted in separation, clothes of a mum that died out of cancer and many more melancholic stories. Each story will drive you away, fascinate you for a time so make sure to reserve some time for this museum as it is a big jackpot sight in Zagreb. The price is 30 kunas.

St Marks Church: A must see in Zagreb is St Marks Church with wonderfully designed roofs. The roof contains code of arms of Croatia and Slovenia side by side.

Stone Gate: This old gate that links the Lower Town with Upper Town is surprisingly awesome with a Christian shrine inside. There is a myth that Virgin Mary was here and this gate was the only survivor  in a big fire that broke out in mediaval times. You’ll see many people praying here and burning candles.

Trg Josipa Jelacica square: The heart of Zagreb’s Lower Town and centre of action which much happening within and around it. When I was there there was a folklore festival on a big stage. It’s a good place for people watching  and drinking.

Dolac Market: If you like bazaar visits then Dolac Market is one place to see. Brightly colored square and  red umbrellas worth a wander even if you don’t need to buy anything. There’s fruit and vegetables, seafood, meat, cheese stands and flower stalls, as well as some souvenir sellers.

Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Another great free thing to do in Zagreb is to visit the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This cathedral was built in 1899 and it  is visible from a fair distance around thanks to high twin spires. You may get in if you like but there is a dress code which requires you to cover your shoulders and wear tall skirt or trousers.

COFFEE CRAWLING

Tkalciceva Street and Ilıca Streets are the centers of buzz. Pubs, restaurants and café’s are lined up. Even if you won’t eat and drink anything the street and side small squares worth a visit.Along Ilica street  you can shop, have great ice creams and walk along the tramway line.

If you wanna people watch in the main square   Josepa Jelacica Square is the correct address. Here I had the chance to taste Zagrepçka Kava a coffee prepared out of pear licquor, espresso and whipped cream. The taste is quite good and worth trying. If you are after good coffee Zagrep is generous about that too..

Cogito Coffee: The cute third vawe coffee shop is decorated in calm colors that eases stress.. It is possible to taste  coffee prepared by V60, Chemex etc. methods here alongside espresso.

Eliscaffe: The artisan coffee bar is founded by an awarded barista.. The place is a cosy and lightly lit place. To be honest, I liked  the cup better than the espresso 🙂 ..

42 Coffee Co.:This is another coffee shop that offers the coffee in great cups! The better stuff about this place is that they offer two different coffee blends for your espresso and you may choose among them. For me this is one of the best coffee shops to take a break in Zagrep.  

Tolkien’s House: Would you like to drink coffee in a Tolkien geek pub? Probably not :)..Anyways the pub offers a menu in Croatian, English and Elvish.. They are proud of their cocktails but for me it is a kind of regular pub with some Tolkienish decoration.

Museum of Broken Relationships Cafe: The museum is a fantastic place to visit and I liked it a lot and just in the same building there is this cafe shop where you can sip an espresso among the museum stuff. It felt good so I am taking the liberty to recommend this place.
